Take your startup idea to the next level with the Copernicus Accelerator

30 August 2018

Do you have an innovative startup concept? The Copernicus Accelerator is your opportunity to turn ground-breaking ideas into innovative business solutions. This extensive coaching programme supports Europe’s most promising start-ups using Copernicus Earth Observation data. There has never been a more exciting time to be an entrepreneur or start-up!

60% of European Earth Observation downstream companies already use Copernicus Sentinel data [1], which is generating around 20 TB of data per day. Many new value-added products and services already serve public or commercial needs but the best is yet to come, with a wealth of untapped potential in the downstream industry.

To boost the use of Copernicus data by new companies, the European Commission has launched the Copernicus Start-Up Programme, supporting ventures from seed to early-stage. The Copernicus Masters European Commission prizes, the Copernicus Hackathons, the Copernicus Accelerator and the Copernicus Incubation scheme accompany geospatial entrepreneurs in their journey.

A new Copernicus Accelerator call for start-ups has been launched, and now is the time for 50 ambitious and promising start-ups or entrepreneurs to become part of this growing community. If you are one of them, take your chance and apply before 15 September 23:59 CEST!

But what does the Copernicus Accelerator offer?

The Copernicus Accelerator connects ambitious entrepreneurs with high-level professionals and provides access to customised webinars, training, intense bootcamps and a vast network of Earth Observation (EO) and business experts. To date, close to 100 start-ups have benefited from this initiative, through one-to-one coaching, business training, and intense networking.

How can a start-up apply for the new Copernicus Accelerator open call?

Submit a short video, together with a pitch deck and a recommendation letter by an Earth Observation-related organisation to demonstrate why the jury should select your business case for the third edition of the Copernicus Accelerator.

Well-established companies and organisations from the Copernicus Ecosystem can help the European Commission to identify the most promising geospatial entrepreneurs in Europe. You are warmly invited to recommend a start-up from your own network. Provide your suggested start-up with a recommendation letter, and encourage them to apply on accelerator.copernicus.eu/opencall!
