UPDATE: Covid-19 – Impacts on the 16th European Conference on Spacecraft Structures, Materials and Environmental Testing (ECSSMET) In light of the global Covid-19 outbreak, the 16th European Conference on Spacecraft Structures, Materials and Environmental Testing (ECSSMET) aims to support international efforts to slow the spread of the virus and ensure the safety of individuals and communities. As a result of the pandemic, ECSSMET will be held as a virtual conference. The virtual conference will take place from 23.3. – 25.3.2021. We believe that virtual conferences are likely to play an increasingly important role in supporting our fellowship, expanding participation in the conference and tackling the global challenge of climate change. In times of the Corona Pandemic, a virtual ECSSMET is an opportunity for us to be creative and to develop innovative and complementary ways for our community to interact.

The Conference is (co-)organized by ESA, CNES and DLR.

The aim of the European Conference on Spacecraft Structures, Materials and Environmental Testing (ECSSMET 2021) is to promote and facilitate discussion and exchange of experience and information among members of the various mechanical engineering disciplines and environmental testing community concerned with spacecraft development, assembly, integration and verification.

The conference sessions will be devoted to different topics such as mechanical architecture, design and engineering, structures, materials (metallic, composite, ceramics), structural dynamics, including shock and micro vibration, in-flight experiments and flight data, environmental testing and test prediction, and some other.
