On 2 April 2020, NASA released the “Plan for Sustained Lunar Exploration and Development,” in response to direction from the National Space Council. As humanity works to develop a “vibrant Earth-Moon future,” we must think not only about role of space agencies and the technologies required, but also about the economic conditions needed to sustain humanity in space. This virtual collaborative working session will collect expert feedback to identify both the technology and information gaps and the economic conditions needed to support long term settlement of the moon and Mars.
