Information:

The Copernicus European Ground Motion Service (EGMS) is a new service which aims to provide reliable and consistent information regarding natural and anthropogenic ground motion phenomena over Europe and across national borders. This will be collected via the interferometric analysis of Copernicus Sentinel-1 radar images and targeted application areas will be mainly within natural risk mapping and asset management.

This online workshop has been designed to introduce interested and potential users of the Service to:

  • the rationale of the EGMS
  • the main characteristics and fields of application
  • and will give an opportunity to propose successful ways in which the EGMS can work with the various National Ground Motion Services already in place by some countries (including examples of downstream applications).

We encourage all interested individuals and organisations, including National Ground Motion Services and other downstream users to join us.

The European Environment Agency (EEA) has been entrusted to implement the European Ground Motion Service (EGMS), as part of the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service’s (CLMS) product portfolio.

More information on the EGMS concept and status is available online here.
