Information:
The Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS) coordinated by the European Environment Agency (EEA) has released a range of High Resolution Snow & Ice (HR-S&I) Monitoring products. These products are now operationally available and include:
- Fractional Snow Cover (FSC)
- Persistent Snow Area (PSA)
- River and Lake Ice Extent (RLIE)
- Aggregated River and Lake Ice Extent (ARLIE)
These products provide snow and ice information over EEA-39 countries at high resolution (20 m x 20 m) and are derived from the Sentinel-2 constellation (Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B) observations. The FSC and the RLIE are made available in near real-time (NRT), according to the Sentinel-2 revisit period. The temporal aggregated products, PSA and ARLIE products are generated periodically.
More information on the HR-S&I products are available online here. This includes an overview of processing algorithms, technical product content and format and main validation results.
This Webinar will be a two day User Meeting (9:30-12:00 on both days) in which we introduce you to these new products as well as share related use cases.
In addition to discussing the above, we will also collect your feedback regarding the planned extension of the products based on SAR Sentinel-1 observations. This will enable us to best prepare for the second phase of production.
