Our aim is to draw on the huge amount of expertise in and around Leeds on Earth observation, instrumentation and data science, to create a ‘space hub’ which will grow Leeds’ reputation for excellence in satellite data processing, advanced computer techniques, and related space sector applications.

This online workshop will bring together academics from the University of Leeds, space-facing industries and regional stakeholders together to map out opportunities and to build a long-term plan, aligned with the Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership ( LEP) and University of Leeds’ strategies.

We will develop our regional unique selling point (USP) in relation to the UK and international space sectors, and an actionable plan for how best to utilise and communicate this skill and better retain and grow our knowledge in the region.

This workshop is co-hosted in partnership with SENSE – Centre for Satellite Data in Environmental Science, the Satellite Applications Catapult and Nexus (University of Leeds).
