Sustainability is essential to surviving in hostile environments. The extreme environment of the Moon requires a robust yet comfortable habitation solution for astronauts and future occupants.

The Architecture and Engineering team at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA) and faculty at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), conducted a study that envisions a permanent human settlement on the surface of the Moon.

Join the conversation between Daniel Inocente, a Lead Architectural Designer at SOM in New York, and Anastasia Prosina, CEO of Stellar Amenities, to discuss how an international alliance between private and public, space and non-space entities are investigating strategies for off-world Architecture.

What are the critical constraints for creating a new paradigm of habitat architecture? How can you accommodate multiple uses through design? What does human-centered design and comfort mean for extraterrestrial development? These are just a few questions that are going to be addressed during the session.

The event will be concluded with a 15-min networking session where you will meet like-minded people, can find partners, clients, and might even secure a job! We are all about connecting the space industry to propel visions of the spacefaring future.
