ENGINES OF UPCOMING SOYUZ ROCKETS TO BE REPLACED, ISS FLIGHT SCHEDULE UNDER REVIEW

Russian space officials ordered a replacement of upper stage engines on Soyuz rockets for two upcoming cargo and crew missions to the International Space Station. Read here.

COMPANIES AIMING FOR 2020 LAUNCH OF COMMERCIAL ISS REPLACEMENT

Have you ever dreamed of vacationing among the stars? Well, soon that daydream could become a reality. Axiom Space (who intends to build the Axiom International Commercial Space Center) along with Bigelow Aerospace predict that, by the year 2020, they will have completed the building of commercial, private space habitats that might one day replace the International Space Station (ISS). ‘ASTRONAUTS’ START 8-MONTH MARS SIMULATION IN HAWAII

Another long-term space simulation is underway at the Mauna Loa volcano in Hawaii, where six crewmembers entered a small, isolated dome Jan. 19 as a part of the HI-SEAS mission. Read about it here.

OHB AIMS TO CUT SMALLGEO PRODUCTION TIME TO THREE YEARS

Spacecraft builder OHB System AG says it is taking steps to rein in the production time for its SmallGEO line of satellites to around three years instead of the seven years the first has taken. Read the full article here by SpaceNews.
