Information:
The 8th European Mission Operations Data System Architecture Workshop (ESAW) is the latest in a series of bi-annual workshops that began in 2005, all of which hosted over 40 presenters from various companies, institutions and organizations, and attracted more than 250 attendees. It will be hosted by the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) on 2nd and 3rd November 2021 under the auspices of ESA’s Operations Directorate.
ESAW provides an international forum for systems architects to constructively exchange ideas and anticipate innovative technological trends on mission operations data system architecture, for example mission control, mission preparation, mission planning, simulation, data analytics, archiving and distribution, automation, ground stations monitoring and control systems, space-ground communications services and support systems.
ESA invite presentations covering all aspects of mission operations data systems with a focus on collaboration and common solutions for traditional space missions, but also for newer domains, e.g. Space Safety, Integrated Applications, Constellations, CubeSats, HAPS, Robotics, Mars/Lunar Exploration (including Gateway and astronauts-in-the-loop), New Space, Space-as-a-Service, etc. Special interest is put in enabling innovative approaches through the use of emerging software technologies, such as Virtualisation, Cloud Computing, Containerisation, DevSecOps, Software Defined Networks, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, Cybersecurity, Model Based System Engineering, Digital Twin, Quantum Computing.
There will be contributions from experts of European and international space agencies, institutional and commercial operators, and key IT companies.
